Custom Connect connects AS260 to London Internet Exchange (LINX)

Amsterdam/London/Dubai, 12 November 2015 — Today Custom Connect has launched new connections between its AS260 network platform and the London Internet Exchange (LINX). The London Internet Exchange is the third largest Exchange in Europe (after AMS-IX in the Netherlands and Germany’s DECIX) and a great addition to the AS260 infrastructure.

Rutger Bevaart, CTO and Lead architect Custom Connect and the original owner of the AS260 network said: “We wanted to connect to LINX as more than 600 unique telecom companies and Internet Service Providers are there. Now we can directly exchange traffic with those parties.” The complete videonewsreport.

Custom Connect operates AS260, one of the Internet’s legacy AS numbers, specifically designed to offer best-of-breed integrated services. Through the AS260 platform, Custom Connect provides a seamless, carrier-neutral and fully managed network solution that integrates public and private clouds with the data centers, central and branch office locations of the customers. All in one design, one contract and one SLA.

The connection makes AS260 a serious ISP for the UK market. Also customers in other regions benefit. “All Custom Connect customers connected to AS260 and using its IP services benefit from the further increased capacity and lower latencies to all of these networks connected to LINX,” said Bevaart. “Using AS260 we always leverage the best path we have for our customers”. Adding LINX gives us about 30% more connectivity options, resulting in a better choice and more flexibility for our customers.”
