The Legendary FastNet Race, Our Daphne Sutton is in!

Daphne Sutton, our new colleague in Custom Connect’s London Office, is taking part in this year’s Fastnet Race, 603 miles of non stop ocean sail racing from Cowes on the Isle of Wight, down to the South West coast of Ireland around the Fastnet rock and back up to Plymouth. It takes on average four days depending on wind and sea conditions.

“By doing the race I’m trying to raise money for a really worthy cause – CatZero in Hull who do amazing work with young people not in education, training or employment, giving them confidence and hope for the future where previously there was none, and the life skills they need to build this future on,” Daphne explains her motives.

The race starts on Sunday 16 August. Daphne’s boat CatZero is IRC 1 class with the starting time 13:20 BST. The race could be tracked here. There are a couple of other options too including Fastnet Radio and Live TV. If you want to follow the start of the race – just follow the link.

“We’re proud to have a Custom Connect Team member in this year’s Fastnet Race and although this is one of the toughest offshore races, as a sailing enthusiast I personally am a bit jealous ;-). We wish here a good trip,” says Olav van Doorn, CEO Custom Connect.
